The EOS 5D Mark IV from Canon is a well-rounded pro level full frame DSLR and the most recent offering in their historic line of EOS 5D series cameras. The 5D IV is popular among professionals and experienced enthusiasts as a dependable workhorse DSLR that delivers both respectably high resolution and reliable shooting performance from a medium sized body that handles well. Not just a favorite for portrait and wedding photographers, 5D cameras have long been a go-to tool for travel and lifestyle pros; now with notably higher 30MP still and 4K video resolutions, built-in intervalometer, improved weather sealing, plus the addition of built-in GPS, the 5D Mark IV is especially location ready. Photojournalists and documentarians will also appreciate high speed shooting at up to 7fps, f/8 sensitivity AF sensors, advanced RGB+IR metering, increased dynamic range, very high ISO options, and a bright 100% coverage pentaprism optical viewfinder.

Sports and action specialists should consider Canon 1DX series options which will offer higher framer rates albeit in a larger form factor with less resolution. Landscape specialists and those looking for maximum resolution over shooting performance should also consider the Canon EOS 5DS series.
